Aina Khan was invited to present a paper on her work with Muslim families and their legal issues. She spoke at the world-renowned Max Planck research Institute for social anthropology, Halle, Germany. The lecture was attended by PhD and postdoctoral research, as well as leading academics, including Marie-Claire Floblets the Head of the Institute, who invited Aina Khan to speak.

Ms Floblets commented afterwards and that it had been enlightening to learn of the practical and pragmatic solutions obtained by Aina Khan, who as well as being a leading expert in Islamic family law, puts the theory into practice on a daily basis.

Aina Khan said;

“I am delighted to have been invited back to the Max Planck Institute to address their international conference in June 2016. This visit, along with their postdoctoral researcher, Dr Julie Billaud, spending 9 months in London shadowing my work daily, has strengthened the bonds between us, which I have no doubt will lead to a mutually rewarding working relationship”.
