LEGAL TEAM

Ash Hussain, Family Lawyer

Ash Hussain is a consultant family lawyer.  She is passionate about family law, is 16 years qualified, has been recommended in the Legal 500 by name and she has extensive experience and knowledge in family law. She regularly shares family law content on her social media channels and has also developed a following.

She is a member of Resolution  – First For Family law and she promotes a strategic, constructive and conciliatory approach on the resolution of family law matters.  She navigates family transition with compassion, negotiation and preserves what is most important to individuals and that is children, assets and peace of mind.   She also recognises that in some cases, this is simply not possible or practical, and where needed, she will take a firm and robust approach on behalf of her clients.  She is calm in her manner, straight-talking and gives clear and practical advice. The majority of her cases settle via negotiation and without the need for court litigation.


Misba Sajawal, Solicitor

Misba is a qualified Solicitor currently supervising the junior members of the team. Misba has extensive knowledge in Family Law having specialised in children’s matters, domestic violence and divorces/cohabitation/finances and Islamic Law and has dealt with complex cases up to the High Court Level. Misba has over 10 years of experience working in the legal sector where she has previously covered areas such as civil litigation and personal injury. Having worked at large leading National firms, Misba continues to work in a profound manner, empathising with clients whilst delivering the best results and recognising that every client deserves utmost support during what may be the most challenging time in their lives.


Shaheen Zaman Khan, Solicitor

Shaheen is an experienced Solicitor with a demonstrated history of working as a Local Government Lawyer in Child Protection in a range of highly complex cases,  and now in Private Practice as a Family Law Consultant. Shaheen was called to the Bar at Lincolns Inn in February 2021 and is the Head Trustee for Shahid Afridi Foundation UK and has extensive experience in philanthropy work. Shaheen always works in the best interests of the client and takes full ownership of all matters with a thorough and empathetic approach.


Samantha Cobley,  Trainee Solicitor

Samantha is a Trainee Solicitor, qualifying in 2022. She has extensive experience across several industries and has developed excellent interpersonal skills.

She has a passion for Family Law.


Mariya Latif, Trainee Solicitor

Mariya is our Trainee Solicitor and has a calm and approachable manner.

She enjoys working with clients, drafting legal documents and legal research. She has completed the LLB from City University London in 2014 and the LPC from the University of Law London Bloomsbury in 2016. Mariya has had 2 years of intensive paralegal experience with large leading London law firms. She has a deep passion for family law and her ultimate goal is to become a Family solicitor.


Lauren Pryer, Paralegal

Lauren graduated with a master’s degree in law in November 2021 and during her time at university she has gained both research experience and work experience across a range of family law matters. She explored contemporary issues in family law in her undergraduate and postgraduate research dissertations on child care proceedings and the criminalisation of coercive control respectively. Lauren started at Aina Khan Law in November 2021 as a full-time paralegal working on several family law matters, including divorce, finance, child arrangements, and domestic abuse. She has previous experience and training in working with victims of domestic abuse from her time working at Victim Support.


Deena Farhat, junior paralegal

Deena speaks fluent English and Arabic, she is currently a Law student at the City University of London and a Junior Paralegal to Aina Khan. With her considerate and accommodating approach, she is the first point of contact for new clients and contributes greatly towards casework to the firm.

Deena is excelling in her role and has a passion for family law. Her objective is to become a family law solicitor once she has completed her LPC/Masters and obtained a training contract.


Barbra Okeke, Trainee, Junior paralegal

Barbra is a recent LPC/LLM graduate from BPP University having obtained a high 2:1 from Coventry University in 2020.

She is now a trainee paralegal at Aina Khan Law with a passion for family law due to her deep empathy for people, and hopes to soon become a trainee solicitor!

She assists the trainees and solicitors on all matters where necessary, from dealing with new clients to research and drafting and is currently working on obtaining the skills required to excel as a future solicitor.

Nabila Fowles-Gutierrez, Divorce Coach

Our Divorce Coaches work with our clients in the UK and abroad to provide ‘wraparound care’. Nabila works on Children cases to provide a full support package (including helping to complete Parenting Agreements and ensuring emotional wellbeing.  Her services are included as part of our Agreed Fee packages.)

With over 18 years of casework experience helping thousands of clients in crisis, Nabila is an expert in managing complex cases, including:

    • protracted and acrimonious proceedings
    • parental alienation
    • child protection
    • domestic abuse
    • safeguarding

Ebru Aksit, Divorce Coach


Our Divorce Coaches work with our clients in the UK and abroad to provide ‘wraparound care’. Ebru works on Divorce Financial  Settlement cases to provide a full support package (including helping to complete Form E for financial disclosure and ensuring emotional wellbeing. Her services are included as part of our Agreed Fee packages.) Ebru has a forensic eye for detailed finances and a warm and patient manner that clients find especially soothing.


Elaine Hodgins, Clinical Hypnotherapist Elaine

Elaine is one of the top Clinical Hypnotherapists in the UK, with over 30 years’ experience. She sees clients via Skype video. She uses NLP, CBT, and EFT to accompany Hypnotherapy. Each client receives tailored therapy for their unique requirements.

 

MANAGEMENT AND ADMIN TEAM

Imran Safdar, Business Director

Imran manages our Business Development, Operations and Finance, IT Strategy, Disaster Recovery & Risk Management & Accounts teams.

He has diverse experience as an IBM Relationship Manager in the Banking and Finance, Pharmaceutical and SMB sectors; as a Siemens Relationship Manager; and as a consultant to law firms, implementing quality standards and best practice.


Ingemar Hunnings,  Client Care Manager

Ingemar is a Consultant and keeps an eye on practice management issues and ‘Best Practice’ for the firm. He is a solicitor with over 25 years’ experience in private practice at all levels up to Department Head and Board level. Ingemar is also a Mediator of Civil & Commercial Disputes and a Non-Executive Director.


Michelle Woodham,  Office Manager

Michelle Woodham is often the first point of contact for courts, barristers and experts and provides a friendly and efficient service.

Michelle has over 17 years’ experience as a Legal PA, with a background in Family Law and Court of Protection matters working in firms within Berkshire, Wiltshire and Central London. In her spare time Michelle enjoys baking, reading and spending time with her family.


Susan Anderson, Executive Assistant to Aina Khan OBE

Susan Anderson is the first point of contact for Aina Khan OBE and offers both a friendly and efficient service. Susan has over 7 years’ experience as an Executive PA, with a background HR, Retail and Local Authority within Kent and Scotland. In her spare time Susan enjoys reading, visiting the theatre, travel and spending time with her family.


Vahida Marić,  Marketing Consultant

Vahida Marić is a Consultant and overseas marketing communication through website, social and direct media.

She is experienced in managing and delivering successful integrated marketing communication campaigns. Strategic, practical, responsible and creative with interest in creating unique solutions adjusted to customer needs.
