I am an experienced Systemic Family Psychotherapist who has worked in busy CAMHS (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service) with the NHS (National Health Services) and Children’s Social Care settings. This has included working closely with other professionals from a wider multiagency network, such as teachers, social workers, and mental health clinicians.
I have also taught on various family therapy trainings and run my own workshops.
I enjoy my work and am forever learning from the diverse range of referrals and families that come my way. I have a special interest in stories of migration and identity; and how this positions us in society in terms of whose voice is heard or how ‘belonging’ is experienced.
I am also trained as an Islamic psychotherapist, so faith is something that I do bring into the work when relevant.
On a more personal level: I am a practising Muslim Woman, born in India, grew up in England, yet lived in Pakistan. I am a mum to 2 grown up children, 2 teenage stepchildren and a son-in-law. I crochet to destress and love the outdoors.
