Aina Khan, attended an Eid Reception given by the Prime Minister David Cameron at No 10 Downing Street on Monday 21 October 2013.
The Prime Minister gave a speech on the significance of Eid ul Adha, the new initiatives he is launching to make London one of the world centres of Islamic finance, and overseas aid (link below). The Reception was held in the Pillared Room & Terracotta Room.
Aina was invited in recognition of her pioneering work on Muslim family law issues and her role as a leading influencer in the Muslim community. In the coming year, Aina will be attending a series of Road shows around the UK highlighting unregistered ‘Nikahs’ (Muslim marriages) and the legal problems that arise. Aina is inviting those who wish to be involved in this work to contact her.
